A portfolio of two dozen stocks with an average holding period of 2 years needs a new market-beating idea every month.

Every month. For as long as you invest.

Josh Tarasoff looked at that math and opted out.

Josh runs Greenlea Lane Capital. He launched it in 2006 with $2.3 million, no employees and no office, working out of his bedroom.

By 2021 the fund had compounded at 17.3% a year after fees and grown past $450 million. He never made marketing a priority.

His latest 13F, for June 30, 2026, lists 10 positions worth $364.2 million, led by Amazon AMZN 0.00%↑ , Brookfield BAM 0.00%↑ , Berkshire Hathaway and Markel MKL 0.00%↑ .

I read his interviews and essays with one question: what can I apply to my own investing?

Here’s what I’d take, in the order I’d use it.
